Before you start
- Complete the printer’s physical setup and ink charging before confirming those stages in an installer. This guide adds an already prepared printer to Windows.
- Connect the printer and computer to the same intended network, with internet access on the computer for Epson downloads. Have permission to install software on that computer.
Step 1:Confirm the shared network
If the printer is not on Wi-Fi yet, use Wi-Fi Setup → Wi-Fi → Wi-Fi Setup Wizard, select your network and enter its password. The separate Wi-Fi guide explains the panel keyboard and connection result.
Check that Windows uses the same network. If unsure, print the printer’s report from Settings → Network Settings → Connection Check and compare its network name. A different guest network may not be able to discover the printer.
Step 2:Choose the exact model on Epson’s website
Open Epson Setup Navi, enter the exact product name from your printer and choose Setup. Alternatively use Epson’s exact-model Support page and its Downloads section. Check the selected Windows version; Epson warns that automatic operating-system detection may be wrong.
Download the offered setup/installation package. If the page lists individual components, select the print Driver and Epson Scan 2 for printing and computer scanning. Other photo or cloud applications are optional; installing every item is not necessary for this task.
Step 3:Run the installer and choose the network printer
- Open the file downloaded from Epson and check its publisher when Windows asks to allow changes. Read the licence terms and make your own optional usage-data choices.
- If asked whether physical setup or initial ink charging is complete, confirm only when it actually is. Do not refill an already prepared printer simply because this installer can also guide first setup.
- Choose the network/Wi-Fi connection route when offered. Select your actual printer from the discovered list and let the driver installation finish.
- If you used separate downloads, complete the print-driver installation first and then run the Epson Scan 2 installer. Finish the relevant prompts without installing unrelated extras just to match the recording.
Step 4:Check the Windows printer and one printed page
Open Windows Printers & scanners and find the intended Epson printer. In the application’s Print dialogue select that same printer, check paper size/type and print one small page. A list entry alone is not proof of a successful printed result.
If it is absent, check the exact-model download and shared network, then rerun Epson’s connection setup. If listed but not printing, use the connected-not-printing guide to check errors and the queue before resetting configuration.
Step 5:Check a scan in Epson Scan 2
- Place a document face down on the scanner glass, aligned with the corner mark, and close the cover gently.
- Open Epson Scan 2 from Windows search and choose your printer in Scanner. Set the document size and an appropriate colour mode and resolution.
- Preview the original and check the crop. Choose the output format, filename and destination folder, then select Scan.
- Open the saved file from the selected folder and check that the required content is present and readable.
The supporting source changes an initially poor black-and-white preview, then waits for a higher-resolution scan and reports the destination folder opening. Choose settings for your document; neither the lowest nor highest setting is automatically best. The linked scan guide explains multipage PDF and save options.
Questions & troubleshooting
Do I have to install every Epson application?
No. The print driver and Epson Scan 2 cover this guide’s Windows printing/scanning task. Other applications serve separate features; choose only those you need.
What if my exact model is missing from the download selector?
Check the product label and regional Epson support. Do not invent a setup address or choose a near-numbered model as an assumed substitute.
Why does Epson Scan 2 list the printer but not save a scan?
A listing is not a completed scan. Check the selected device, connection, preview, file format and destination, then follow the dedicated scan troubleshooting guide.
