Connect the app and position the page
Connect the printer and iPhone to the same home network and select the correct printer in the official HP app. Place the document face down on the flatbed at the marked corner and close the lid.
This is printer scanning, not taking a picture with the iPhone camera. Add later pages manually on the glass; the 5107’s scanner is a flatbed.
Step 1:Scan from the selected printer
Open Scan in the HP app and choose the printer scanner if the app offers multiple sources. Read any connection message before continuing. Start the scan and wait for the new page image to appear.
The dedicated recording briefly reports that the printer is disconnected, then proceeds after it reconnects. If yours stays offline, resolve discovery first rather than treating the absent preview as a finished scan.
Step 2:Add pages and inspect the crop
For another page, replace the original on the glass and use the app’s next scan/add-page control. Repeat until all intended pages are present, then continue to the preview.
Check the detected edges. In both recordings the presenter chooses Full because automatic detection can clip content. Use Full or adjust the crop when needed; keep automatic cropping when it correctly includes the page. Check order and orientation before saving.
Step 3:Choose PDF and save to Files
Open Save or Share and save, choose PDF and continue to the iPhone share options. Select Save to Files, choose a folder and filename, then finish the save. A smaller-file option can reduce size, but inspect readability before choosing it for important text.
Reopen the saved file in Files and check the pages. A visible preview and an open save sheet do not alone prove that a file has been saved. The recordings show these options but do not establish a reopened final file.
Treat extra formats as optional
The source displays searchable-PDF, text and document-export options. Availability can depend on the current app, account or service, so ordinary PDF is the route covered here. Do not assume an extraction option produced accurate text without checking its result.
