Understand what this reset changes
One supporting video calls the operation a general reset and restore. The buttons it demonstrates are the network-reset sequence in HP’s manual; the article deliberately uses that narrower name.
Step 1:Light the control-panel buttons
With the printer on and awake, press and hold Information for 5 seconds until the control-panel button lights turn on. HP calls this support mode; it makes the relevant controls available.
Step 2:Hold Wi-Fi and Cancel together
Press and hold Wi-Fi and Cancel together for 5 seconds until the Wi-Fi light blinks blue. Release the buttons. The primary source repeats its first attempt before showing the expected state; use the resulting indicators rather than assuming any brief light change completed the reset.
Step 3:Check setup mode and reconnect
Look for a blinking blue Wi-Fi light and cycling signal bars with the Wi-Fi alert icon off. The printer is now ready for wireless setup, not connected to the router yet.
Open the official HP app on a device using your intended home network and complete the linked Wi-Fi setup procedure. When connection succeeds, the Wi-Fi light stops blinking and remains on.
