Before you start
- The Wi-Fi details and any account information needed to reconnect after the selected reset.
- Finish current print jobs and do not reset while a firmware update is running.
Choose the smallest reset that meets your need
Restore Network Settings clears the network configuration, including proxy settings and the embedded web server administrator password. You will need to reconnect afterward. Restore All Factory Defaults resets the configured printer settings more broadly, including administrator passwords, network configuration and jobs named in its confirmation.
Step 1:Restore network settings when you need a fresh connection
On the Home screen, choose Menu → Settings → Network. Scroll to Restore Network Settings and select Restore. Read the confirmation, including its administrator-password consequence. Confirm only if you want those settings removed.
Wait for the network-defaults-restored confirmation. A previously connected printer will need to join the home network again; open Wi-Fi → Wi-Fi Setup Wizard and follow its prompts. A blinking light immediately after this reset is consistent with the connection having been removed.
Step 2:Open the full restore menu for a broader reset
Choose Menu → Tools → Maintenance → Restore Settings. The source shows Network Settings, User Settings, User Data and All Factory Defaults as separate choices. Select the one you actually intend to reset rather than choosing all defaults merely because it appears at the bottom.
If you need all factory defaults, read that option’s deletion warning and confirm only after you are ready to reconfigure the printer. Leave it powered while it performs the reset, then follow its setup prompts. The source shows the menu and warning; it does not document a completed factory-reset recovery test.
Step 3:Reconnect and check the result
After a network reset, add the printer back to the intended home network and confirm that the app can discover it. After a full reset, complete the printer’s setup prompts before sending a job. HP says an HP+ printer must be registered again with the HP account used at first setup.
If the original fault remains, record its exact message and consult the matching troubleshooting instructions. Repeating a full reset is not a substitute for identifying the fault.
