Before you start
- Plain paper loaded in the input tray.
Choose the report that answers your question
A Network Configuration Report describes network settings, including the printer’s address and connection status. A Wi-Fi test report checks the wireless connection. Neither is the same as the Print Quality Diagnostic Report used to inspect missing colors or streaks.
Step 1:Open Network Reports
Load plain paper in the input tray. On the touchscreen, open Menu → Settings → Network, then scroll to Network Reports. This is the path shown in the video.
HP’s manual also documents Menu → Tools → Reports → Status Reports for printing reports. If your screen is organized differently, use that documented route and select the named report rather than changing network settings.
Step 2:Select and print the report
Choose Network Configuration Report and start printing. Use Wi-Fi Test Report instead when you want the wireless diagnostic results. Leave paper in the tray until the job finishes; the source’s configuration report prints on three sheets, but that is not a fixed count for every configuration.
Step 3:Read the relevant network details
For a configuration report, check the network status and printer IP address. For a Wi-Fi report, inspect its diagnostic results and the network name, then compare that network with the one used by your phone or computer.
