Select the connected printer in the HP app
This method uses the official HP app on a Windows PC, with the ENVY already set up on the same network. Open the app and select this printer. If it is absent, add the existing connected printer before starting the scan.
The recording does not establish an exact Windows or app version. It does not prove that every Windows scanning program has the same controls.
Step 1:Place the original on the glass
Lift the lid, put the original face down at the marked top-left corner of the scanner glass and close the lid. Open Scan in the HP app and select the printer scanner or Scanner Glass source.
Step 2:Choose settings for the document
Choose the document scan task and match the paper size to the original. Select grayscale or color according to what you need to preserve.
For a normal document, begin with the app’s ordinary document resolution, such as 300 dpi. The source tries 1200 dpi, cancels the slow scan and returns to lower settings. A higher number is not automatically the most useful choice for readable everyday paperwork.
Step 3:Scan and inspect the whole page
Choose Scan and let it finish. In the preview, check that all edges and text are included and correctly oriented. Adjust the crop or rotation if necessary.
If you need more pages in one document, use Add to scan the next original from the glass. This is a manual page-by-page process, not an automatic document-feeder workflow.
Step 4:Save a file and verify its location
Choose Save or the offered share/save option in the completed preview. Set a meaningful file name and choose PDF for a document, or the appropriate image format when that is what you need. Select the destination and complete the remaining save prompts.
Open the saved file from that destination and check it. HP’s scanning guidance supplies this explicit save step; the video reaches the scan result and save options, but does not establish a successfully reopened file.
Questions & troubleshooting
The scan takes much longer than expected.
Check the selected resolution. The recording’s 1200 dpi attempt is canceled; ordinary document settings can be more practical. Cancel through the app if needed, then select a suitable setting before starting again.
Where is the scanned document?
Complete Save with a file name, format and destination, then open that folder. Seeing a preview alone does not identify a saved file.
