Before you start
- Be authorized to reset the printer used by other people.
- Have the router/network and setup details needed afterwards; finish active jobs first.
Decide whether a full settings reset is needed
If you only intend to clear the network configuration, use the separate network-reset guide. A reset does not refill toner, remove a jam or repair a worn part. It should not be the first response to every print problem.
Step 1:Select the intended restore command
- On Home, open Menu. Under Utilities, choose Tools.
- Open Maintenance → Restore Settings.
- Select Restore all factory defaults. Read the confirmation and choose Restore only if that is the intended reset scope.
Step 2:Let the printer finish its restart
The recordings report that the printer restarts automatically after confirmation. Leave it powered and wait for its setup screen; do not interrupt it with another power cycle just because the display changes.
The supporting recording briefly suggests switching power, then corrects itself when the automatic restart begins. Follow the actual on-screen state.
Step 3:Complete setup and check the result
Follow the printer’s language and other initial-setting prompts. Re-establish the intended network connection and review the settings required for your next job. Select or add the reconnected printer on your device as needed, then run a small print and inspect it.
The primary recording ends around restart and setup prompts. The supporting recording continues through network selection and password entry, and the presenter reports a successful Wi-Fi connection. It does not demonstrate completed phone/computer setup or a finished post-reset print.
