Before you start
- Have the intended network name/password and permission to change a shared printer’s connection.
Prepare to reconnect after the reset
Use this when clearing the current network configuration is your intended action. Do not substitute Restore all factory defaults: that has a broader settings scope.
Step 1:Choose the network-only restore option
- In the recorded touchscreen layout, open Menu → Tools under Utilities → Maintenance → Restore Settings.
- Choose Restore Network Settings, read the confirmation and choose Restore.
- Wait for the command to finish, then acknowledge OK if offered.
HP’s applicable manual also places network restoration under Menu → Settings under Utilities → Network. Menu organization can differ: use the option explicitly labelled for network settings on your printer, and stop rather than choosing a different reset just because the screen differs.
Step 2:Set up the intended connection again
Return to Menu → Settings → Network and choose your connection method. For Wi-Fi, enable it and use Wi-Fi Setup Wizard to select your own router network and enter its current password. Disconnect an Ethernet cable first if you intend to use Wi-Fi; HP says a connected Ethernet cable disables Wi-Fi.
Reconnect your phone or computer to that same intended network and select the printer. A reset alone does not install the new router details.
Verify a real job after reconnecting
Read the current network details and confirm the expected network, then send a small print. The recording ends after the reset confirmation and refers to a separate setup video; it does not demonstrate a completed post-reset print.
