Before you start
- Confirm the ink bottle is intended for your exact model and region and matches the tank colour; do not infer compatibility from another EcoTank’s bottle.
- Place the printer level, protect nearby surfaces and finish active jobs. Keep ink away from children and avoid spills on skin, eyes or belongings.
Step 1:Start the refill workflow
Check the actual ink in the tanks. On the printer open Settings → Maintenance → Fill Ink and read the displayed precautions. This guide covers replenishing an already-set-up printer; initial setup also requires its own ink-charging procedure.
Step 2:Open the matching tank
Close the document cover, then lift the scanner unit with both hands until it locks. Open the tank cover and the cap for the colour you will refill. Keep the bottle upright while removing its cap slowly.
Step 3:Let the correct bottle fill to the upper line
Check the tank’s upper line. Align the bottle with the matching fill port and insert it straight. Let the ink flow without squeezing or shaking it. With the specified bottle, the flow stops at the upper line.
If ink does not start flowing, Epson says to remove and reinsert the bottle. Do not repeat that once the tank is at the upper line, because ink may leak. Remove the bottle when filling is complete; do not leave it inserted.
Step 4:Close the tank and store remaining ink
Secure the tank cap and tank cover. Close the scanner unit with care; its closing resistance is intentional. Recap any bottle with remaining ink and keep it upright. The source’s no-spill assurance is not a reason to handle an open bottle carelessly.
Step 5:Update only the refilled colour estimates
Follow the printer’s completion prompts to set the ink level for the colours you actually refilled. Fill Ink resets the selected estimate to full; use that full estimate only after filling to the upper line. If you deliberately added less, use the separate Set Ink Level guidance to match the actual remaining amount.
Check that caps are secure and the displayed level now corresponds to the completed refill. The source does not show a final print test; when ready, check a small job and investigate any error or missing-colour pattern separately.
