A little preparation

Before you start

  • A phone with Wi-Fi and Bluetooth enabled, using the network you want the printer to join.
  • Epson Smart Panel installed.
  • The printer’s own password and your current home Wi-Fi password.

Clear the previous network before pairing again

The video begins by clearing the printer’s existing network setup, then connects it again through Epson Smart Panel on an iPhone. This is useful when repeating setup or changing the connection. The reset removes the previous network configuration; the app steps restore the new connection.

Step 1:Reset the old Wi-Fi settings

Turn the printer off and wait for it to finish shutting down. Hold Power and Information together for around four seconds, until the Wi-Fi lights flash alternately. Release the buttons and wait for that reset flashing to stop.

Step 2:Put the printer into pairing mode

Hold the Wi-Fi button for a few seconds until the Wi-Fi lights flash alternately. If they stop while you prepare the phone, hold Wi-Fi again to restore pairing. The source repeatedly identifies alternating flashing as the state to use for discovery.

Step 3:Open Epson Smart Panel and allow it to find devices

Enable Wi-Fi and Bluetooth on the phone, then open Epson Smart Panel. Accept the terms to continue and follow its discovery prompts. On the iPhone shown, the presenter allows location while using the app, local-network access and Bluetooth discovery. Notifications remain optional.

Step 4:Set up a new product and select the EcoTank

Choose Set up a new product, then Continue. When the printer is found, select it and confirm Yes. Proceed to Wi-Fi connection settings and continue with Next.

Step 5:Use the printer’s own password at the first prompt

The first password requested here is the printer administrator password, not the router password. Find the printer’s password label inside the front panel, or check its other labels, and enter that value. Choose OK.

Step 6:Confirm the home network and its password

Check that the app has selected the Wi-Fi network you want. Confirm Yes, continue with Next, then enter that network’s current password. Choose OK and confirm the displayed connection information.

Step 7:Wait for a steady Wi-Fi light and completion message

Keep the phone awake and nearby while setup runs. The source describes about two and a half minutes. Completion is confirmed by the app’s success message and the upper Wi-Fi light staying on rather than flashing. Choose OK to open the printer dashboard.

A little extra help

Questions & troubleshooting

The alternating lights have stopped before the app finds the printer. What next?

Hold the Wi-Fi button again until the lights flash alternately, then retry discovery. The source demonstrates restoring pairing when it times out.

The app still does not find the printer. What does the presenter try?

The presenter suggests deleting and reinstalling Epson Smart Panel, then repeating setup from the beginning. The written steps preserve that source suggestion without claiming it resolves every connection problem.

Should I enter the example password from the video?

No. Use the value printed on your own printer for the printer-password prompt, then your own network password at the separate Wi-Fi prompt.
