A little preparation

Before you start

  • One sheet of A4 or Letter paper for the printed method.
  • For the Windows method, printer and computer connected to the same Wi-Fi.

Choose the printed sheet or Windows

The printer can print its own network information sheet without a computer. If you have already added it to Windows, the source also shows the IP address in the printer’s Device information.

Step 1:Load one sheet and turn the printer on

Put A4 or Letter paper into the rear feeder, then turn the printer on.

Give the Information button a firm press, holding it for around one or two seconds as shown. Wait for the network information sheet to print.

Step 3:Read the IP address entry

Find the line labelled IP address on the printed sheet. Read your own sheet rather than copying an address from the video: it is the address assigned to your printer.

Step 4:Alternatively, select the printer in Windows

On the Windows printer settings page shown in the video, use Add device if the printer is not already listed. Otherwise select its existing printer entry. Both devices need to be on the same Wi-Fi for this route.

Step 5:Open Device information

Scroll down the selected printer’s page to Device information and read its IP address there. The recording shows more than one printer entry; choose the entry for the network-connected printer whose details you need.

What you should have

You should now have the printer’s IP address from its printed network sheet or Windows device details. The video demonstrates Windows; no macOS menu path is assumed here.
