Before you start
- A clear, stable work surface.
- Someone to steady the printer if you use the underside view shown in the video.
Three places to look inside
The video shows three inspection points: behind the front cover and raised scanner unit, inside the rear paper feed, and underneath the front paper tray. These let you look for trapped paper and inspect the visible paper path. It does not demonstrate a rear-panel removal or a repair.
Step 1:Lower the front cover and raise the scanner unit
Pull the front cover down. Lift the upper scanner unit from the front to expose the interior below it. This is the larger upper assembly, rather than just the flat document-cover lid.
Look through this opening for paper and inspect the visible ink tubes without pulling them out of position.
Step 2:Look down into the rear paper feed
Move around to the rear and raise the paper support. Look into the paper-entry opening. The video uses this opening for inspection and leaves the rear casing attached.
Step 3:Use the underside view shown in the source
The presenter turns the printer onto its back, then lifts the front paper tray to expose the underside paper path. Keep the printer supported while looking into this opening.
What these openings reveal
You can inspect the front paper path, the rear feed entrance and the underside. For removing trapped paper, use the linked paper-jam guide, which includes disconnecting the power before reaching inside.
