Before you start
- A4 or Letter paper loaded in the rear feeder.
Print the test directly from the printer
Start with the printer off and paper loaded. Hold Power and Stop together until the printer starts, then let it print the nozzle-check pattern. No phone or computer is used in this method.
Step 1:Turn the printer off and load paper
If the power ring is lit, hold Power until the printer shuts down. Put A4 or Letter paper into the rear feeder.
Step 2:Hold Power and Stop together
Press Power and Stop at the same time. Release both when the printer starts and the lights begin blinking, as shown in the video.
Step 3:Wait for the nozzle-check sheet
Allow time for the page to start printing. The presenter reports a wait of around twenty seconds in this demonstration, so it need not begin immediately.
Step 4:Look for missing sections in the line patterns
Check the small printed line patterns for breaks or gaps. The source points to a complete pattern as its example. If your lines have gaps, the linked printhead-cleaning guide shows the next maintenance method taught on this printer.
Questions & troubleshooting
Do I need Epson Smart Panel to print this test?
No. This source uses only paper and the printer’s Power and Stop buttons.
The page has not appeared immediately. Should I press the buttons again?
Give it time to start. The demonstrated printer takes around twenty seconds; immediately repeating the sequence is not part of the source method.
