Before you start
- Canon PRINT on Windows with a working printer connection, the originals and an accessible folder for the saved output.
Connect the printer and place the first original
Open Canon PRINT on the Windows computer already configured to communicate with this printer. Select the correct printer. The recordings use a working network setup; complete connection setup before attempting the scan.
Open the scanner lid and place the first side face down against the glass, with its corner at Canon’s alignment mark. Close the lid gently. Scan one side at a time; a two-sided original must be turned by hand, not passed through an automatic document feeder.
Step 1:Scan the first side with suitable settings
In Canon PRINT choose Scan. Choose Document for a document or Photo for a photograph, and select the actual original size and appropriate available resolution. The presenter chooses 300 dpi for his document; that is an example, not a universal best setting.
Start Scan and keep the original and lid still until the preview appears. Inspect the edges, legibility and orientation. Use the app’s rotate, crop or Image Correction tools if needed before treating the preview as ready to save.
Step 2:Add the remaining pages in order
For a second page, wait for scanning to finish, then replace the original. For the reverse side of one sheet, turn it over so that the next side is face down and align it at the same mark. Close the lid, choose Next scan and start the next scan.
Repeat for each page, checking the accumulated previews and their reading orientation. The source briefly notices a wrong orientation during the second scan; do not preserve an upside-down page merely because it appears in the list.
Step 3:Choose the correct file format and save all pages
For one combined document, select PDF as the output format. Choose Save all pages and enable Save multiple pages to a single file. Then choose Save, give the file a meaningful name and choose a destination you can find.
For one scanned photograph, the other recording shows JPEG and PNG as alternatives to PDF. Select the format appropriate to your single image; the multipage-PDF option is unnecessary for a single photo.
Step 4:Open the saved file and check every page
Open the saved result from the chosen folder. For a PDF, confirm page count, order, orientation and legibility before sharing it. A preview on the scan screen is not proof that a file was saved.
The multipage recording reports reopening a two-sided PDF at about 3:30. The single-image recording opens the save-location flow. These are source observations; no separate physical scan test is claimed here. Phone and Windows controls are not assumed identical.
