A little preparation

Before you start

  • A supported Windows environment, Canon PRINT and access to the intended home Wi-Fi.

Prepare the network and printer

Connect the Windows computer to your intended home Wi-Fi and keep the printer nearby and powered on. Wait for maintenance or printing to finish. Open the genuine Canon PRINT app from Microsoft Store; read required terms and optional choices rather than treating every prompt as mandatory.

If the printer already uses this network, add the existing printer before changing its configuration. The recorded Windows interface and available features may differ with software version or operating system; this guide does not promise every app function on every computer.

Step 1:Enable the documented setup mode

When a network connection must be configured, press and hold the printer’s Wireless connect button for about three seconds, releasing when the Direct icon flashes. Confirm the network icon and two horizontal bars flash as in Canon’s setup illustration. This is more precise than the recording’s generic reference to a wireless button or flashing green light.

Step 2:Add the correct printer in Canon PRINT

In the recorded app, choose Next and Add printer. Allow the official setup components to load, choose the Wi-Fi connection option, and confirm the printer is on. Search, select your matching printer, then choose Connect.

Confirm the intended network and supply its Wi-Fi password if the setup asks. Read what a permission or installation prompt requests before accepting it. A temporary network interruption is expected during the transfer; do not interrupt the operation solely because the computer briefly loses its usual network.

Step 3:Finish software installation and verify a job

Wait for the network connection and driver installation to complete. Continue until the app reports that connection settings and installation are complete and your printer appears online.

Check that the computer is back on the intended home network. Use the offered test print or send one small document. The source explicitly skips its test-print option at about 4:31, so app completion should not be described as a demonstrated printed result.

If discovery or setup fails

Recheck the selected home network, printer setup display and any real LCD error. Use Canon’s model-specific setup guide below for the supported method offered to your Windows environment. Do not repeatedly initialize all settings as a substitute for reading the error.
