Before you start
- Printer and Windows computer on the same local network for the demonstrated wireless method, or a configured USB connection. Install Epson Scan 2 for this exact printer and your Windows version.
Step 1:Install the scanner software from Epson
Open Epson’s exact XP-2205 support page, manually choose your Windows version and install the available scanner driver/Epson Scan 2. The source uses Epson Setup Navi at epson.sn/2200 and selects the scanning components. A printer-only driver is not enough to supply the scanning app.
If your printer already appears on the same network, select it in the installer rather than resetting its Wi-Fi. Review optional software and data-sharing choices separately; the source’s opinions about those choices are not technical requirements.
Step 2:Place the first page on the glass
Lift the document cover. Place the page face down with its corner at the marked corner of the scanner glass, then close the cover gently. This is a flatbed workflow: turn a double-sided sheet over yourself when you need its other side.
Step 3:Select the scanner, format and folder
Search Windows for Epson Scan 2 and open it. Select your XP-2205; its software entry may display XP-2200 Series. Choose Document Mode for documents or Photo Mode when appropriate. Set the actual document size, image type and a resolution suitable for the detail you need.
Select PDF for a document or another suitable image format, enter a recognizable file name and choose Folder. If you need a different destination, use Select and browse to it. Preview can help check the crop before the final scan.
Step 4:Choose a single scan or a multipage PDF
For one page, click Scan and wait for the file to save. For several pages in one PDF, choose PDF and enable Add or edit pages after scanning before starting. Scan the first page.
When the completion dialog appears, replace the original with the next page, face down at the same corner, and close the lid. Click Add only after the new page is positioned. Repeat for each page; this also lets you scan both sides of a sheet manually.
Step 5:Save and open the finished file
For a multipage scan, use Edit if a page needs rotating, moving or removing, then choose Save when all pages are present. Open the file in the folder you selected and check its page count, order, readability and orientation. The source shows the destination folder opening, but you can always browse to your chosen folder yourself.
Questions & troubleshooting
Why does Epson Scan 2 not list the scanner?
Confirm the scanner software is installed and the computer can reach the printer on the same network, or check the configured USB connection. In Epson Scan 2, the Scanner menu includes Settings for selecting/configuring the device.
Can the printer buttons start this wireless scan?
This guide starts scanning on the computer. Epson’s two-copy-button scan-to-computer shortcut is documented for USB with the required Epson software; it is not the same wireless workflow.
Why did each page become a separate file?
For the workflow shown, select PDF and enable Add or edit pages after scanning before the first scan. Add the remaining pages in that session and save only when the set is complete.
