A little preparation

Before you start

  • Load A4 plain paper in the rear feeder and extend the output tray. Have the original ready.

Step 1:Place the original face down

Lift the document cover and put the side you want copied against the scanner glass. Align it with the corner arrow shown in the video, then lower the cover gently. The original on the glass is separate from the blank output paper in the rear feeder.

Step 2:Choose black-and-white or colour

Press the black-and-white copy button for monochrome output, or the colour copy button for a colour copy. Choose one button, rather than pressing the pair together. The front-panel icons distinguish the two copy choices.

This starts a copy job. It does not save a scan to a computer or phone.

Step 3:Wait for the scan and print

Leave the cover closed while the original is scanned. Let the output sheet finish feeding before removing it. The presenter reports that the first copy finishes printing. This does not establish a guaranteed speed for your document.

Step 4:Check the copied side and edges

Compare the sheet with the original. Check orientation and the intended content. Epson describes basic copying at the original magnification with margins, so do not expect an edge-to-edge duplicate.

If the copy is blank, check that the printed side faced the glass. If it is cropped, check the corner placement and use the specified A4 output paper before repeating.

A little extra help

Questions & troubleshooting

Do I press the two copy buttons together?

No. For a normal copy, press the single button for the output you want: black-and-white or colour.

Can I copy both sides automatically?

The source turns the original and manually reloads the output sheet. That is not automatic duplex copying. This page covers the single-sided workflow; do not assume the refeeding orientation is the same for every document.

Can I make a copy without using the app?

Yes. The control-panel buttons start the copy directly after you have loaded paper and placed the original.
