Step 1:Start with the connection report
Load plain paper. On the printer open Home → Settings → Network Settings → Connection Check. Follow the prompt to print the network connection report and note the error code and network message. This distinguishes a router connection failure from a device that cannot find an already-connected printer.
Step 2:Check the intended network and password
Confirm the router is on and the selected network name is yours. Re-enter its current password in Wi-Fi Setup Wizard if necessary; case matters. If you use WPS, confirm the router actually supports that method.
Do not rename the entire network merely because its name contains punctuation. Epson’s E-2/E-3/E-7 guidance permits ASCII letters, numbers and symbols, but says the printer cannot display non-ASCII names. Follow that specific report and the network administrator’s guidance.
Step 3:Check signal and restart deliberately
Move the printer closer to the router and reduce obstacles as a diagnostic check. A weak connection does not by itself prove that buying an extender is necessary. If the report calls for restarting the router, remember that this briefly disconnects its other users.
Use the printer’s normal power button and allow shutdown before disconnecting power. The source’s five-minute unplug is a suggested trial, not evidence of a required timer or guaranteed repair.
Step 4:If Wi-Fi is connected, check the phone or computer
Use the intended local network on the device as well. Router guest or privacy-separation settings can prevent devices from finding one another even when both have internet access. Ask the network owner to provide an appropriate printer connection; do not broadly disable network security.
Choose the exact model and your actual operating system on Epson’s support site when installing software. For a USB connection, use the separate USB setup guide; connecting a cable alone does not prove Wi-Fi has been configured.
Step 5:Verify the result before changing more settings
Run Connection Check again after correcting the reported issue. Once the connection succeeds, send a small job from the intended device. If problems remain, keep the report’s code and describe whether the printer lost the router or only became unavailable to one device.
The recording mentions a firmware check but reports that its firmware is current. It does not demonstrate an update fixing the fault. Use the exact model’s official update instructions when an update is applicable, and never interrupt an update.
