A little preparation

Before you start

  • Add the correct printer to Epson Smart Panel first and confirm that the app can reach it.
  • For printing the saved file, load matching paper and extend the output tray.

Step 1:Place the original on the glass

Place the document face-down against the scanner’s corner mark and close the cover gently. Use the flatbed, not the phone camera: this walkthrough captures the document with the printer’s scanner.

Step 2:Choose Scan in Epson Smart Panel

Select the correct connected printer, then open Scan. Check the document size, colour choice, resolution and output format rather than copying the source’s A4 settings for every original. The source uses the app’s tile layout.

Step 3:Scan and inspect the image

Press Start and keep the lid closed while scanning. Inspect the returned image. Rotate or crop it if necessary, then continue with Next. Ensure important edges or text have not been cut off.

Step 4:Choose a name and save location

Give the scan a useful file name and select its destination in the iPhone save dialogue. The source chooses iCloud Drive; use the accessible location you actually intend. Finish saving and open the resulting file to check it.

Return to Print Documents in Smart Panel and select that saved file. Check the selected printer, loaded paper, page range and copies, then print. The presenter reports a paper result from this scan-and-print sequence.

If you only needed a digital scan, stop after saving. A direct paper copy is a different route and does not require creating a file first.
