Before you start
- A Brother HL-L2445DW that needs a Wi-Fi connection.
- An iPhone on the intended home Wi-Fi, its current password and the official Brother Mobile Connect app.
Choose the correct registration route
The presenter names and enters HL-L2445DW in this recording. The broader model names in the video title are not additional demonstrated units.
Open Brother Mobile Connect and select Add a machine. If the printer already works on your home Wi-Fi, choose the option for a machine already connected to Wi-Fi or wired LAN. The sequence below is for a machine not yet connected; it does not require resetting a working connection.
Step 1:Select the unconnected printer and exact model
Choose Register a machine that is not connected to Wi-Fi or wired LAN. Enter HL-L2445DW as printed on your printer and continue. Do not select a similar model simply because it appears first.
Step 2:Start the printer’s wireless setup
Follow the app’s prompt to hold the printer’s Wi-Fi button for two seconds. In the recording the LCD then asks you to check the PC or device. Confirm in the app only when that matching prompt appears, and let discovery run.
Step 3:Enter the home Wi-Fi password
Follow the app’s prompts to join the printer’s temporary setup connection and supply the home Wi-Fi details. Check that the displayed home network is the one you intend to use, then enter its password and continue. The two recordings arrange the temporary-connection prompt and password entry differently; complete both stages in the order your app presents.
Wait for the printer’s home Wi-Fi setup and its registration in the app to finish. A temporary phone-to-printer connection alone is not the completed home-network setup.
Step 4:Check the finished connection
Finish the setup screens, reading any optional services separately. The source ends with a steadily lit Wi-Fi button and the printer available in Brother Mobile Connect. Return the phone to the intended home Wi-Fi if necessary and confirm that the printer is still available there.
Questions & troubleshooting
The printer was already connected on someone else’s phone.
Put your iPhone on the same home network and use the app’s already-connected registration option. Do not reset the printer merely to add another device.
The app stops after connecting the phone to the printer.
That is only an intermediate stage. Check the displayed home network and password, then complete the machine-Wi-Fi and registration stages before checking it from home Wi-Fi.
Does this establish the Android or other Brother-model procedure?
No. This guide follows the HL-L2445DW and iPhone shown. App versions and other printer interfaces may differ.
