Before you start
- An iPhone with the official HP app already installed while Internet access is available.
- Your own 2.4 GHz home Wi-Fi name and password; paper for the printer’s information page.
Keep an existing connection if it works
If the wireless light is steady and the printer is available from your home network, do not reset it. Check that the phone is on the same home network and that the app has selected this printer. Use the following recovery route when the intended home connection needs to be configured.
Step 1:Enable the printer’s own local connection
On the 3755 control panel, check the dedicated Wi-Fi Direct light. If it is off, press Wi-Fi Direct once. This is a separate control from Wireless. Press Information to print the printer information page and use that printer’s own Wi-Fi Direct name and password.
In the iPhone’s Wi-Fi settings, join the matching DIRECT-…-HP DeskJet 3700 series network using its own password if asked. This local connection does not provide Internet access. Install the app beforehand, and keep the report private.
Step 2:Reach the printer settings
Return to the HP app, choose to add an existing printer and select this DeskJet. Once its device screen opens, choose Printer settings → View all → Advanced settings as shown in the recording.
HP also documents opening the printer’s local web page at http://192.168.223.1 while joined to its Wi-Fi Direct network. Verify that you are reaching your own printer before entering credentials. A browser warning on another address is not permission to continue.
Step 3:Run the wireless setup wizard
On the local printer page choose Network → Wireless (802.11) → Wireless Setup Wizard. If administration credentials are requested, use your own printer’s current credentials; these are separate from its Wi-Fi Direct password. Stop and use HP’s support route if the credential is unknown rather than copying a number from the video.
Select your intended home network and enter its current password. The 3755 requires a 2.4 GHz router connection. Finish the wizard and wait for the connection result.
Step 4:Return the iPhone to home Wi-Fi
Reconnect the iPhone to the home Wi-Fi selected in the wizard. Check that the printer’s Wireless light is steady and that the HP app can still reach it from that network. This final home-network discovery is shown in the source; direct discovery alone would not prove it.
Try a small document and inspect the output to confirm your own printing works. Do not remove and recreate a working app entry just because the presenter demonstrates discovery again.
Restore network settings only if required
The recording’s longer hold and broad factory-reset wording are not the model-specific instruction used here. If your network is not listed, first confirm its 2.4 GHz availability and signal rather than repeating resets.
